Healthier Families for Future Generations - a film by the Apunipima Cape York Health Council. Acute Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease is common in kids and teens across the Cape. It starts with a Strep A germ which can infect the throat (sore throats) and the skin (skin sores). Without treatment (antibiotics) these sore throats and skin sores can develop into ARF & RHD. If you or your child has a sore throat or skin sore go to the clinic to get checked out.
