Women and Girls with RHD

Completion time: approximately 50 minutes

This program is designed for clinicians who care for women with RHD. More information is available in the 2020 Australian guideline for prevention, diagnosis and management of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, 3rd edition. On completion of this program, participants will be able to

  • maintain a high level of suspicion of rheumatic heart disease in women at high risk.
  • identify key elements of transition to adulthood, preconception care for women with rheumatic heart disease.
  • identify women at high risk of cardiac events during pregnancy and adverse fetal outcomes.

Professional development recognition is available from:

NAATSIHWP (0.75 hour)
Australian College of Midwives (1 CPD hour)
