RHD for Community-based Workers

Start Program

This program provides information about acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease for community-based workers. On completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • describe the actions required to prevent Strep A transmission. 
  • describe the actions required when throat or skin infections are present. 
  • describe acute rheumatic fever.
  • describe the importance of Bicillin injections in preventing recurrent acute rheumatic fever.
