Rheumatic heart disease has become a notifiable condition in Western Australia. Western Australia is the first jurisdiction in Australia to make rheumatic heart disease notifiable. As of the 19th June 2015, health professionals in Western Australia are required by law to report all cases of RHD. Read more about the significance of this change in regulations.
