Professional Development

RHDAustralia is working to improve clinical understanding of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease management based on best practice. We are charged with developing education, training and health promotion resources that can be used to improve the management and control of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. Our education and training strategy focuses on collaborations and partnerships with medical education service providers by value adding to existing resources and learning platforms.

E-learning Modules

This self paced education package provides health workforce with a basic understanding of best-practice approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and management of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. On completion of the education modules, you can order a certificate for evidence of CPD hours for national registration. The modules have been endorsed by both the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and attracts 5 CNE/CPD points.

Health Provider Education - by Clinicians for Clinicians - available soon
RHD Australia with James Cook University’s School of Medicine and Dentistry are working with health care providers and RHD Queensland, WA and NT to develop a suite of multi modal education modules relating to acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) prevention, diagnosis and management.
